Dear Fresh Farms Customers,
This week, if it is not obvious enough, we are highlighting Clementines. These delicious little balls of orange convenience carry large amounts of Vitamin C, act as a great enhancement to meat dishes, and finally… clementine juice makes a kick ass mixer ; ). So, for this weeks Thirsty Thursday, clementines’ versatility made my job easy! For the record, my job is to spread as much food-knowledge as possible so that you can impress your friends in the future with your skills in and around the kitchen. Let me just say you’re welcome in advance; you’re welcome.
Fresh Farms Philosophy on Alcoholic Beverages
At Fresh Farms, we appreciate each and every tasty treat that our world makes available. Although we appreciate both food and drink for their health benefits, positive social characteristics and enjoyable qualities we always respect them for what they are. If we ever suggest that a food item is to be paired with an alcoholic beverage, we insist that our customers consume it with utmost care and diligence. Although food and drink can, and should, be consumed in healthy moderation we understand that they can be consumed in unhealthy quantities. We at Fresh Farms appreciate your business, but we appreciate your health even more; please drink responsibly.
This week I have chosen to highlight the Clementine-Mint-Sparkler, as described within Williams Sonoma. This recipe is one of my favorites because it incorporates mint which is honestly delicious at any time of year be it sun or snow, rain or shine. Also, I like this drink because I am extremely comfortable with my sexuality and have no problem drinking it in front of people. Having said that, using a mini umbrella is taking it a step too far.
Beside the fact that there is SOME clementine juice in this drink, its quite honestly not healthy for you. Alcohol, when added to anything, really takes away from the nutritional value of the other ingredients due to the fact that it places strain on your kidneys to digest the foreign substance. Ever wonder why your face gets red when you drink or why you cant walk in a straight line to save your life when your drink too much? Yep, alcohol isn’t exactly good for you. But its fun, its tasty, and its being put in this drink.
Now that you know how to make this delicious, mint-ridden party starter you should go out and try it. Right now. Get up. Go buy whatever ingredients you need and do it. Unless it’s a weekday…you’re at work…you’re babysitting children for an extended period of time… you’re planning on driving… OK FINE. Wait until you have free time and then enjoy it. Thank you for tuning in this week and I hope that I’ve helped you to better understand your food, where it comes from, and how to use it. Drink responsibly!
